Behind Every Design, a Story

One of the essentials when preparing for a newborn is a blanket — and with every new baby comes a new blanket. Blankets come in many types, from Minky fabric to cotton, but there is one kind that gets passed down through generations: the quilted blanket.

This is what I had always been searching for in the market and could never find — until the day I decided to design this type of blanket myself, so it could be passed down through generations and carry a special meaning and character.

To make it even more distinctive, I wanted to give it an Arabic Kuwaiti identity. I designed blankets for both boys and girls, each with its own style and color palette.

This blanket went through a long manufacturing process — nearly two years. Finding the right factory to produce it was difficult, and finding a price that would work for my customers took several failed attempts before I was finally able to bring it to life with this level of beauty.

And the best part? It was made right here in Kuwait 🇰🇼 — a 100% Kuwaiti product, from design to production. Today I can proudly say this product is a pride of Kuwaiti craftsmanship.

Sheikh Al Shabab — The Boys' Blanket

Let me introduce you to the boys' blanket: "Sheikh Al Shabab." For this blanket, I chose the Leo collection from my children's fabric line — featuring phrases you'll hear in almost every Kuwaiti home. The color palette includes shades of orange, blue, green, and grey.

This color palette gave the design energy and life — it's all movement and spirit. The lion illustrations in various poses and the geometrically shaped trees gave the design a playful, childlike, and dynamic character.

Ahla Al Banat — The Girls' Blanket

A girl's charm is in her sweetness and shyness. Let me introduce you to "Ahla Al Banat" — the sweetest girls' blanket, a design that is all femininity and beauty. I used a mix of designs from the Ruby The Rabbit collection and floral designs from the Flowers collection.

I chose a girly color palette of pink in various shades, green, grey, and white.

I wanted to add sweet phrases for little girls, such as:

"Daddy's little princess"

"Mama's soul"

"Who can match you? I'm your daughter"

In both designs, I incorporated the quilting concept — a combination of fabrics arranged in a specific pattern, with the back of the blanket in a different color. Each piece has many details that set it apart from the other, and the best part is that you won't find anything like it anywhere in the world — because it's my own design and production.
