Nature-Inspired Creativity! A Cushion Design Journey
From the wonders and marvels of nature, the most beautiful inspirations are born. This is how my journey began in designing a cushion collection that captures hearts — the Lemon Shades and Kiwi Blossoms collection. As a designer, I have always found that nature has its own language, told through small details: a green leaf, a white flower, or even a ripe lemon hanging proudly from its branches.
The First Inspiration: Lemon Shades
Everything began when I welcomed a small lemon tree into my home garden. With every new dawn, the leaves would catch the light and shimmer like green sapphires, and the fruits would cast shadows of life in every corner. One rainy day, watching raindrops on the lemon leaves, the idea for this design was born. I wanted to reflect the beauty of natural simplicity and vibrant colors in the "Lemon Shades" design.
I began drawing the leaves and lemons in different color gradients — I love the earthy and muted greens with touches of brown in the branches. For the background color, I fell in love with dark navy blue, which I was using for the first time in my designs. It was a challenge, but it resulted in a truly stunning design.
I chose a very premium fabric to showcase the power of the dark navy in this design, which beautifully brought out the turquoise green and dark blue of the fruits and leaves — Cypress Cotton Canvas. This thick 100% cotton fabric provides a sophisticated texture with a rich, bold color and strong performance. I love using it for cushion making.
Dewy Kiwi Blossoms
My artistic canvas wasn't complete yet. I began searching for an idea to complement this design and create a harmonious collection that brings beauty, vitality, and elegance to any space. I chose white flowers, and after research, I fell in love with white kiwi blossoms. I had to immortalize this beauty in a design that translates softness and femininity. The dance of kiwi blossoms across the design was truly beautiful. "Kiwi Blossoms" is a design that weaves natural colors into an artistic composition set against a background of luxurious American linen, offering an unmatched sense of delicacy and quality.
For this design, I made the cushion double-sided — each side featuring a design in two complementary colors, giving freedom of use and the ability to change the look constantly for those who love variety.
Fabric: Linen Cotton Canvas
With a beautiful natural texture and medium weight, this 55% linen / 45% cotton blend provides the durability of linen with the softness of cotton. Absolutely beautiful for cushions.
Colors and Details
In my designs, every color tells a story and every line carries a philosophy. In "Lemon Shades," the green embraces the spirit with its freshness, while the dark navy surrounds the fruits like the boundaries of the night sky. In "Kiwi Blossoms," white meets touches of light brown to paint flowers blooming among leaves colored in the soft green of spring.
